How do you get information from your clients about uncategorized transactions?

Wherever we are – conference, workshop, webinar – we always like to ask you (accountants and bookkeepers) how you get information back from your clients about uncategorized expenses and deposits. By far the most common response is that you export spreadsheets from QuickBooks Online or Xero or QuickBooks Desktop and email the spreadsheets to your clients. Every. Month. Others of you copy/paste transaction details into emails or take screenshots or schedule client meetings by phone or Zoom or in person to review with your clients. This is our why.
